Arizona Youth Partnership
Arizona Youth Partnership (AzYP) based in Tucson, Arizona, works with youth and families across the state to bring resources to under-served communities. Since 1990, Arizona Youth Partnership has made great strides in reaching Arizona’s children, youth, and families in 29 communities in 9 counties. AzYP seeks to keep youth in school, off of drugs and alcohol, reduce pregnancies, teen births, sexually transmitted diseases, and create safe, drug-free communities, and healthy environments for children, youth, and families in communities and Native American Reservations across Arizona. Recently, our "Healthy Marriages/Strong Families" program was selected as a "Promising Practice" by the US Dept. of Health & Human Services' Administration for Children & Families, Office of Family Assistance.
Open Doors Community School
Open Doors Community School, Inc. (ODCS) was created by AzYP as a subsidiary nonprofit, specifically for the pursuit of a charter to operate a community school to benefit rural, low-income youth in the Town of Marana. ODCS is a natural progression of AzYP's 20 years of education and prevention efforts. On January 23, 2012, Open Doors Community School was awarded a K-8 charter by the Arizona State Board for Charter Schools. We plan to open the doors in August 2012 and more information will be posted soon.
